About Us

Small‑town roots, big on quality

Since 1985, Presidential Park Landscape has been a neighborhood mainstay in Norwell, MA. What started as a modest yard‑maintenance crew has grown into a full‑service landscape and hardscape company. We’re big enough to tackle major projects, but still small enough to bring a personal touch—and to know your name when we pull up to your driveway.

Meet John Carnes & the crew

Back in ’85, John Carnes founded the company with a beat‑up pickup and a dream: help South Shore homeowners get outdoor spaces they’re proud of. Today he’s still hands‑on, scoping out sites from Norwell Center to Cohasset. John’s crew? They’re trained pros—same team handling patios and lawn care that’s been mowing your neighbor’s yard for years.

Stories worth telling

One fall, a couple in Hull Pond area called us to fix a yard washing out every time it rained. We added a retaining wall, re‑graded the slope, and planted low‐maintenance shrubs—it’s held solid through plenty of Cape storms.

Another time in Briggs‑Carter Memorial Park neighborhood, we laid a patio and built a firepit for a family who wanted a place to gather after soccer games. They’ve invited us back just to enjoy it—and brought us apple cider for the team!

Local folks like Maureen in Norwell Village say, “John and his team at Presidential Park Landscape created a beautiful outdoor fire pit for my backyard. It has become a place for our whole family to come around.” And our customer Donna adds, “His team always does a great job, and makes my yard look amazing” after years of weekly lawn care.

What we do

We pull from 40 years of experience building:

  • Lawns & maintenance – from fresh sod to weekly care
  • Patios, walkways & walls – bluestone, granite, pavers—you name it
  • Firepits – wood‑burning or gas, granite or veneer stone
  • Landscape design & plantings – native trees, screening, foundation beds
  • Excavation & drainage work – fix soggy yards so things stay neat

We’re local, so we get what grows here—and what doesn’t. We use materials that age well in this coastal climate (think real New England stone). And we don’t rush—you’ll see a clean site at day’s end, site‑specific solutions, and follow‑up that matters.
